I attended Luther College for one year and graduated from The University of Iowa in 1974 with a B.S. in General Science. I married my wife, Julie, in 1974 and we have three grown children. Our son, Zach, is a professional golfer on the PGA Tour. Our son, Gabe, is a graphic design and advertising specialist at Momentum, Inc. in Chicago and our daughter, Maria, who holds a MPH (masters in public health), is the health education director of Northwestern Mutual Life in northeast Iowa. I attended Palmer College of Chiropractic, graduated summa cum laude and was salutatorian of my class in December of 1977. I was elected into Pi Tau Delta, the international chiropractic honor society. I began my practice in 1978. Along with Dr. Swope and two other doctors, we started Chiropractic Health Care Associates in 1987. I am a member of the Iowa Chiropractic Society and was on the Board of Directors for two terms; I was voted ICS director of the year and was the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids District President. I am a member of the American Chiropractic Association and a past member of the International Chiropractors' Association. Primarily a Gonstead method practitioner, I also use Diversified and Activator Methods. I am a past member of the Cedar Rapids Jaycees, served on the Board of the Regis-LaSalle/Xavier High School Foundation and belong to Elmcrest Country Club. In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf, travel and the joy of being a grandparent.
